What Adjusters Should Do When Preparing for Storm Season

Summary

Calling all Adjusters! This post is for you. We know you like to work hard. But, we know you like to play hard too. So, what do you need to do to prepare for the busy season so you are set up for success? We've got you covered.

Busy season is right around the corner. We are about to see hail storms hit all over the country. But, are you prepared to make as much money as you can? Here's our list of things you need to do to prepare for the busy season as an adjuster to set yourself up for success. Because we know that you like to work hard, but you also play hard and we don't want you to be rusty on your first job back out there.

  1. Licenses & CE Credits

Do you have your CE (continuing education) credits and is your license up to date? It can be easy to forget the details that go into the business side of things as an independent adjuster. But, making sure you are compliant with state regulations is crucial to your success and reputation in the industry. Check out https://adjusterpro.com/ for more information on staying up to date on your licensing.
  2. Make sure your vehicle is ready to go

I know this seems like a silly one. But, the last thing you want is a car that breaks down during the busy season. Or, windshield wipers that just can't wipe... am I right?! Anything from needing new windshield wipers to an inspection, make sure you take care of all the vehicle maintenance you can before you need to hit the road. The same thing can be said for home repairs or any other large protects that might get in the way of having a successful busy season.
  3. Do you have the right equipment?

Cougar paws are a great patented design to keep you on the roof. Cougar paws specialize in traction boots, tools, and accessories for roofers, appraisers, and others in the industry who demand only the best in grip, traction, and comfort.

Another tip? Broomball shoes. Wait, the sport like hockey but in boots and with a broom? Yep. That one. Broomball is a sport played in the midwest during the winter where you strap on some boots, grab a broom, and hit a ball into a hockey net. Well, these guys have figured out the grippy shoe game and have created some amazing shoes that work for roofers as well. Some brands even have soles that can be replaced. Talk about efficiency and cost savings!
  4. Where are the areas you need to be?

Before heading out on adjusting jobs across the country, it is critical to stay up to date on the weather reports. Our favorite source of weather and storm tracking? HailTrace. HailTrace is the leading technology company that excels in weather forensics. They have a team of 8 meteorologists that analyze and build a database of hail maps, wind maps, and tornado maps across all of the United States, Canada, and Australia in real-time! Actionable data is then generated to nurture existing customers, build new leads, and track potential prospects.

One of the best tools you can utilize during storm season? HailTrace's CEO and founder, Derik Kline put together weather predictions for the year so that you can plan your busy season.HailForecast
